Short version: ClinicalNote is free and provided as-is. It helps you structure your own notes; it doesn't replace your clinical judgment, and how you use it — including your patients' data and your employer's rules — is your responsibility.

ClinicalNote is provided as-is

It's a free tool I built and share. It comes with no warranty and no guarantee of any kind. It's a way to structure and speed up your own notes — it is not a medical device, not clinical advice, and not a substitute for your professional judgment or your practice's record-keeping systems.

You're responsible for how you use it

Your notes are yours. Meeting your obligations — accurate records, your patients' privacy, your employer's or practice's policies, and any regulatory requirements that apply to you — is down to you, not the tool.

The AI features

ClinicalNote's AI features are optional and run on your own API key. When you use them, the clinical text you enter is sent to your AI provider under your own account and their terms. Keep patient identifiers out of it, and check where you work stands on sending information to third-party AI services before you do. I never receive any of this — it goes from your browser to your provider.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for how you use ClinicalNote or for anything that follows from it. If any part of this doesn't hold up where you are, the rest still applies.
